The brand's story began in the Indian Himalayas, with my very first emerald ring.

In 2015, in the Himalayas, I made myself an emerald ring. Within just two weeks, I noticed a remarkable change in my own behavior. Soon after, I came across an article by a Vedic astrologer about how Mercury's energy affects a person through an emerald.
It listed ten points, and every single one felt like it was about me. The article also covered other stones and planets. That's when I understood the true power of gemstones, and of this knowledge.
Once I realized these changes weren't random, I began studying the Vedas and astrology to truly understand how they work and how to work with these energies consciously, so I could help people make the right choices in life and move toward their true purpose.
Wanting to find a Vedic astrologer, I traveled to Vashisht, where I met my teacher, Kali Shankar, right away. That same day, he began his first course in Vedic astrology. The first lecture was called "Stones and Planets." From then on, I immersed myself in Jyotish, birth charts, and the connection between gemstones and planetary energies, driven not by theory but by what I had lived through myself. That's how BAURUM was born.
Over ten years, I've gone from working by hand with a hammer and torch, the way Himalayan jewelers do, to cutting-edge jewelry design technology. Through all these changes, one principle has stayed the same: first the person and their needs, then the stone and the form of the piece.
My path to gemstones didn't begin with stories, theory, or their beauty. It began with my own experience: real changes within me, and the power of a stone I felt firsthand.

Every natural gemstone is unique. Even two stones with the same length and width can differ in depth, proportions, and cut
That's why Baurum doesn't make mass-produced settings and then fit in stones that only roughly match

First, we select a specific stone. Then we take its exact measurements and adapt the chosen design to it. The setting is engineered to hold that particular stone securely while keeping it in direct contact with the finger. Finally, following Vedic tradition, the ring is completed during the waxing Moon, on the day ruled by the stone's planet.

The astrologer determines the right stone for the client and the key conditions for wearing it. From there, Baurum works with the client directly

Of course, our larger and more valuable gemstones come with reports from independent gemological laboratories. A report can confirm the stone's natural origin, the presence or absence of heat treatment, and other characteristics that can be tested.
Not every stone comes with its own lab report. In that case, Baurum provides its own guarantee that the stone matches its description.
Within 2 years of purchase, the client may have the stone tested at an independent, accredited gemological laboratory. If the report shows that the stone does not match the characteristics stated at the time of purchase, Baurum will refund the full price of the piece.
